There is a Korean proverb that you can't spit on a smiling face. It means, everyone likes a smiling face. I saw some article on the website.
Some Korean were killed in the Philippines. According to the article, they are so rude, they had treated Filipinos as slaves, and they had boasted their properties to neighbors. To sum up, they had acted badly as much as being killed. So I think that,the way of protection ourselves from being a victim of a crime is to be polite, and avoid places where are easy to occur crimes.
