I think drunk driving is a grave offense for a reason as follows.

Firstly, drunk driving is intentional. Although many people think that drunk driving is just fault, it is undeniable that they have made choice to drive while they are intoxicated. Moreover, they could predict that they would commit an accident when they are intoxicated. This shows that drunk driving fully depends on the suspect’s will. Obviously, the suspects had other various options that could be chosen.

Being drunk and getting into a car and driving is a ridiculous crime to commit. You're not just putting your own life at risk but everyone else lives too. Every day, about 32 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes, that's one person every 45 minutes.
