Yes. When I was 20, just entering a university, I was very shy and slient. But one of my seniors had a good first impression about me. She said I was very nervious but it looked cute because I was just a freshman and I reacted well. I think smile and reaction make a good first impression without speaking. And in the work place, working hard without speaking make a even better first impression.
