There are a lot of technology which is very helpful, but I think development in radiological approach leaded a big achievement in diagnosis and treatment. Besides CT and MRI, nuclear medicine such as PET scan enabled new approach to show functional activity. Simple radiologic images like CT and MRI can only show anatomical information, but when nuclear medicine is grafted on radiology, we can estimate the funtionally active region, such as where the cancer is located or where the brain activity is activated. The development of nuclear medicine leaded more accurate diagnosis of the disease, which can consequently enable correctly targeted treatment. For example, we use brain images with nuclear contrast which is injected accurately when patient seizure, to check the brain area triggering the seizure. Then the identified area can be treated using neurosurgical approach or brain stimulation technology.

Accurate diagnosis lead to early and effective treatment. I think this is the point of all the technology that you mentioned here. When my mother was sick of cancer which was detected at stage 3, she had to undergo a lot of tests and I may have seen some of these technology in the hospital or testing sites.

In the next coming years, these technology will develop further, work more efficiently, and help mankind find out easier of their disease.
