Explanation: 1.) We can remove "of" or add "the" : When I sent some (of/ of the) construction documents to the job site by e-mail,... (Most of the nouns specially when specifically talked about in a sentence have "the" to mean that they are "a specific kind of something."
                           We can use the pattern without "of" in these sentences:
   1.) When I send some food to my mother, she receives them through a delivery man.
2.) When I [verb + some(adverb)+ noun] + other parts of the sentence. 
                                        Ex: When I pay some money to the bank, I do it online.     

                       2.) The same explanation as #1 is the reason for the use of "the" for "I missed the design instructions and the owner's requirements to be provided by the client."
