What is the importance of music in keeping your country's cultural heritage alive?

My country has our own music and musical instruments for example gugak, pansori, janggu etc. These are considered our ethnic and soul is in these. But nowadays many people are indifferent to traditional music. Because It sounds like the old. But even though it is far away from today, traditional music reflects a country's culture and history. And it makes us feel ethnic identity. So we should keep our tradition. Like Yuna kim who is a korean figure skater chose Korean traditional music as her program song.
