What do you like about your culture?
>> I would say two things among others.
The first one is the culture in which people respect and admire the elderly. Like many other Oriental countries, the people living these days and their ancestors have deeply been affected by the idea of Confucianism. In the center of the philosophy, there lies love and respect for the elderly. Since they have lived through over a half century, the younger generations would regard that they would have overcome lots of difficulties, hardships and obstacles in their lives, and therefore, that they would have some knowledge and wisdom to pass down to their descendants.
And the second it that we, Koreans, are willing to abide by rules, if needed. For example, at an early stage of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when Korean government urged its people to wear a face mask at all times, just few people denied to follow it and most of the people accepted it.
