Yet, we have to be honest with ourselves.Yes, it is a tough season. We should be very diligent in the practice and discipline of prayer and fasting. Some may argue that why we have to fast. Some may say why we have to pray. Some may just ignore the practice of Lent. I understand. I do understand. Because it is not easy. It is even tough and burdensome. But if there is no sacrifice, there is no forgiveness. If there is no pain, there is no gain. If there is Lent, there is no Easter.Henri Nouwen’s “ An Ash Wednesday Prayer” is a good answer. Lent is the time of self-reflection. Lent is the time of self-discipline. Lent is the time that we stop and come to God. Lent is the time that we stop and lay ourselves bare before God. Lent is the time that we can check our direction. We can check where we are going. Sometimes we are going far, far away from God. Above all else, Lent is the time that we return to God. Our mortal body will return to dust. Since we are from dust. So we return to dust
