There are a lot of superstitions here in Korea. It is bad manner to right someone's name with red color because it is known that it causes someone's death. We don't want to use number 4 in the building floor because it is death in chinese character, so we commonly use "F floor" instead of number 4. If someone dreams of pig or poop, it is a good omen, so most people tend to buy a lottery because they expect to win a lottery. The shallow is thought to bring good luck and is viewed as a positive figure. There are weird superstition that is sleeping with the fan terned on is believed to bring possible death. Many Koreans, especially elderly, strongly believe that is can cause lack of oxygen and hypothermia during sleep. If someone give shoes as a gift to one's partner, it is beileved that his/her partner might cheat on with other person. We believe that person who receive shoes will run away wearing it. The last superstition is about eating seaweed soup before taking a important test.
