Fried rice with various ingredients called "Bokeun Bap" sometimes brings back the related memory of my childhood. According to my Mom, I was so finicky about food in my childhood that she had suffered from my ill-balanced eating. So she tried offering me various meals with delicious ingredients to encourage my eating. Finally, She made it with fried rice. Afterward, my ill-balanced eating was fixed. Whenever my Mom sees the fired rice on that table, she tells me that story joyfully. As a father of three children, now I can understand how hard my Mom had gone through raising two mischievous boys.

It makes sense that fried rice is one of the most widely consumed rice dishes in the world. The appeal of fried rice for the home cook is that it is incredibly flexible. It's ideal for nights when you're clearing out the refrigerator and want to get rid of any leftover meat or vegetables.
