What I like most about the holiday tradition is for the family to get together. Nowadays we are a nuclear family in Korea, so we have reduced chances to meet a whole family together in one place other than a wedding ceremony, funeral, etc. A month before, my mom plans how to prepare food for that day: when to go to the market, and what to buy. She seems to be happy though she is busy. During the holiday, We can share the food and talk about how they have been. Women who host the gathering hate holidays because of serving food every time people visit the house on that day. Though we spend lots of time preparing, dishwashing, and doing chores, we can have a better time with family members living far away. Through this meeting, we can feel we are related to someone else. That can be the power to live bravely because we have our supporters, the family. That's why God may make a family. I hope I can make my own family someday.
