Today, I really didn't understand what the corporate rate meant even though I tried to find it in a dictionary. As I understood it might be special discounted fee for the business travelers or group. I hardly understood it however it must be a useful word for my interview test.

Can you tell me the significance of corporate rate for the business trip?
There are numerous situations in the hotel such as peak season, off season, crowd guests, a few guests.
We can hardly expect those situation even if we have the data in the past.
So hotel employees should try to market it in case only a few guests visit the hotel.
To make up for it, giving the corporate rate to the potential guests would be important such as business travelers.
They could be frequent guests or group guests that could bring in a lot of money.
That's the things how important the corporate rate is.

You might not be able to find the term in the dictionary as it is hotel terminology but you can check the meaning of "corporate" and "rate" separately. A corporate or corporation is similar to a business, company, or organization. Rate is the amount you have to pay as you know. Therefore, if you were to analyze corporate rate is a discounted room rate that is available particularly to business travelers. We offer them a special rate to make sure that they will consider us now and next time if possible. Business travelers can be our frequent guests or sometimes they check in as a group. If we can get their loyalty because of our favorable and special offer, it means they could bring in a lot of money for the hotel.
