Many Korean people want to cut off the '차례', which is making good food for their ancestors who have passed away because it's hard to make lots of food and it costs a lot although we don't really believe in ancestor ghosts nowadays. But our family are not that stressful about '차례'. In our maternal family, it has been already cut off when my grandfather passed away and my faternal family understands our parents not participating in '차례' because they know we are Christians.
If I have to pick one up, I want to cut off the tradition to visit father's family first. Because of that, my parents, my brother and I hardly meet my father's sister's family. It's so weird.

I heard that a lot of young people whether they are not Christians, would like to stop doing the ancestral rites because they are busy. one of my students who is a mom told me that she will be the last person doing this because when she gets old she will not ask her two sons to do ancestral rite for her. Remembering her by visiting her tomb is enough.
