What do you take into consideration when choosing an accommodation?

There are many to consider when choosing an accommodation.
Among them, the most important thing for me is the location of the accommodation.
Point of view from traveler's, most of them will be for sleeping in the accommodation.
Because of this reason, many people looking for cheap accommodation.
So, they choose accommodation that is far away from their tour place.
However, if the location of the accommodation is bad, I think the trip will be tiring.
And this vacation I experienced, cheap accommodation is cheap for a reason.
Another story is that I got a new information when I booked the accommodation this time.
It's location in the popular city in Japan, but I heard to avoid booking that is cheaper than nearby accommodation.
The reason why, I heard that most of these buildings had bad incidents.
Even, there are website that informs of these buildings.
