I think five colors-red, yellow, blue, white and black- are associated with the Korean Lunar New Year.
I found that those colors are associated with five cardinal colors that Northeast Asian have believed importantly.

I said that Korean eat "Tteokguk" in Lunar New Year.
Tteokguk is a kind of soup made of sliced bar rice cake, and people garnish soup with eggs and dried laver.
So when you see tteokguk, you can watch yellow, white, and black colors.

And people make and eat Korea style pancake, skewering ingredients and frying.
The recipe of this pancake are different from house to house, but It usually made of crab sticks, eggs or pickled radish, green onion, and beef.
You can watch red, yellow, green(close to blue) and brown(close to black).

Also children wear "Jeogori(a kind of traditional jacket)" with multicolored stripes.
There are many colors in Jeogori, but the main colors are red, yellow, blue, and white.
