In the past, there were very few Koreans who changed their names in Korea.
However, I know that more and more people are changing their names these days.
But that number is still very small.
My company also has a few young employees who changed their names after joining the company.
There seem to be many reasons Koreans want to changer their names.
One of them is when the pronunciation of a name is similar to something bad and is teased by friends.
I heard that some young women change their names just because they want to have a pretty name.
But in Korea, if people want to change their names, they have to get permission from the court.
And the court is very careful when it grants permission to people who want to change their names because there are many reasons.
One of them is concern about the connection to crime. some criminals would want to change their names to hide their crime.
