I think I can be friends with someone very different from me.
However, it is natural that it takes a lot of time and effort. Because it takes time and effort for someone else to meet and become friends with the original person.
It takes time to find out a person's thoughts and values, and to understand that person, it takes effort to reach out to that person.
If you only have consideration and understanding, even if it is hard and difficult, even if it takes a lot of time, I can be friends with someone very different from me even if it takes a lot of effort.
But I will try to be friends with someone who has a lot of thoughts, but if I think I can't be friends even if I try, I will give up being friends.

It's nice to know that you are open to becoming friends with someone who is totally different from you.
And I also agree that it will require a lot of time and effort, but if it will not work, then it is okay to stop trying becoming friends with them. ^^
