In my opinion, the concept of meaningful life is relative. It solely depends on the value that a person puts emphasis on. Recently I came across a news article that many Korean young adults are suffering from mental illness such as depression and eating disorder from competitive environment and high expectation. Also, I came across various comments criticizing how weak and naive they are. The most comments were like it had been more difficult during old ages and young generation must be stricter to themselves to have more meaningful life. If a person values a diligent lifestyle with targeting ambitious goal, godsaeng could be meaningful, However, if a person values calm and tranquil life with less stress, godsaeng lifestyle could not be considered. Accordingly, we cannot criticize or judge a person for not having ambitious goals with a strict routine because it is up to their choice to decide what kind of life they want to live in.
