Q : Would you rather repair a broken phone or buy a new one? Why? A : I will buy a new one if I bought a phone more than 2 years ago. But if I bought a phone less than 2 years ago, I will repair the phone. It is because we normally make a deal as 2 years in Korea. Before a deal is over, changing a phone is quite expensive. So, my choice can be changed by duration.

OR >> I would buy a new one if I had bought a phone more than 2 years ago.

But if I bought a phone less than 2 years ago, I will repair the phone.
>> But if I bought it less than two years ago, I will repair it.

OR >> But if I have had the phone for less than two years, I will have it repaired.

It is because we normally make a deal as 2 years in Korea.
>> This is because phone contracts in Korea usually last for two years.

OR >> This is because we usually sign two-year phone contracts in Korea.

Before a deal is over, changing a phone is quite expensive.
>> Before the contract ends, changing phones is quite expensive.

OR >> It’s quite expensive to change phones before the contract ends.

So, my choice can be changed by duration.

>> So, my decision depends on how long I’ve had the phone.

OR >> So, how long I’ve had the phone affects my decision.
