I am familiar with two work ethics; one is to do everything as quickly as possible, and the other is to do one’s best how difficult situation one faces. First of all, Koreans emphasize speed a lot when it comes to work. They want things to be done very quickly without any pause. As a result, most of restaurants or cafes serve food very quickly and we have our unique culture of delivery. Most of the foods or drinks can be delivered in 30 minutes. Not only food serving but also paper works are done very quickly, too. Whenever I go to government offices, such as district office or real estate agent, the work I need is done quickly so that I don’t have to wait for a long time standing in the line. Second, I learned from the history that it is important to work diligently. After Korean War ended in 1953, Korea used to be one of the poorest countries in the world. However, as our ancestors worked hard diligently, they were able to make a miracle of “ Many a mickle makes a muckle.”
